Infant Dental Care

Here at the ToothZone we want every child to grow up with a healthy, bright smile. That's why we offer all families in Northern Colorado a FREE Infant Dental Care program. In this program we provide FREE EXAMS for infants up to 18 months of age. The first IDC appointment is designed to evaluate your infant's mouth and gums for any possible future dental problems and provide you with helpful oral hygiene education and teething advice.

We encourage you to make other appointments as you see your child's teeth erupt so we can help you stay ahead of the curve on good daily oral hygiene even at this early stage of your child's life.

Toddler Dental Care

Most children have a full set of 20 primary teeth (baby teeth) by the age of 2½ to 3 years of age. Our goal in having you bring your toddler into the ToothZone for a regular exam is assuring the formation of strong teeth which will resist decay! We want to make sure that any lingering food debris is removed from on or between the teeth to prevent the possibility of cavities developing. It is important to protect your child’s baby teeth to prepare for their permanent teeth.

Trust us, we know cleaning a toddler’s teeth thoroughly is easier said than done. While it can be difficult to get started, teaching your toddler to care for their teeth needs to become part of his or her and your daily routine, in the morning and last thing before bed.

We are here to help your toddler start healthy oral habits and prepare them to have positive a dental experience. With your help, we can work together to ensure that your child grows-up with healthy, strong teeth and a big bright beautiful smile!

Pre-School Dental Care

Sure we all know your child’s first set of pearly whites will wind up with the Tooth Fairy one day. But still, you shouldn't discount the importance of dental care for your preschooler’s - baby teeth. Neglected cavities can and frequently do lead to problems which affect developing permanent teeth. That why the ToothZone wants to help you keep your child in a regular dental care program.

Children are not just small adults. They are not always able to be patient and cooperative during a dental exam. That’s why at the ToothZone we have developed special ways to help make children comfortable and to have fun with them during their exam and treatment.

ToothZone doctors have the expertise and training it takes to care for excited pre-schoolers. Our staff is quick, but thorough making sure everything is done right the first time so kids can get back to doing what they do best – PLAY! In addition, we use specially designed equipment that is built just for children. We also offer a wide range of treatment options for caring for your child’s teeth, gums, and mouth.

Elementary School Dental Care

Active is nowhere near the word to describe Elementary Age children! The problem is NOW they want to do what they want to do when they want to do it - brushing and flossing their teeth included. That means it’s critical they have expert dental care from the ToothZone to keep their teeth and gums healthy!

Around this time, your child's first permanent teeth begin appearing. These are important teeth because they help shape the lower part of your child’s jaw, as well as affect the position of your child's other permanent teeth. The ToothZone can help in this area too by offering a special program for the early assessment of orthodontic treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite.

We love to teach children about proper dental hygiene and the importance of regular examinations and cleanings. Helping your child learn a routine of good dental care will put them on the right track to prevent major problems later.

Tween Dental Care

Every kid deserves to have a million-dollar smile. Tweens want to fit in! What a better way to fit in than have a killer smile, for everyone to envy. Most children have a full set of permanent teeth at the age of 12- 14. Common dental problems seen in children age 10-12 are cavities, gingivitis, and teeth spacing issues, which is found in the majority of U.S. children.

We encourage you to make sure your child learns how critical it is to perform good oral care - every day to help prevent serious dental conditions - including periodontal disease that affects millions of children every year. This is also the time to look for orthodontic issues that might affect your Tweens dental health and permanent tooth placement outcome.

Teen Dental Care

A bright smile, fresh breath – and lots of friends, that’s what a healthy mouth can mean for a teenager. As your child transitions into adulthood, it’s clear that their dental needs change. But the one thing that hasn’t changed is the fact they have not outgrown tooth decay. In fact, dental decay and gum disease may be more of a problem for your child during their teen years than it ever has been before. Cavities often increase in teens because of changes in dietary habits, lack of motivation for good oral hygiene habits, increased demands in schoolwork and social arenas.

We realize that keeping up with dental checkups, teeth cleanings, orthodontic appliance adjustments, fluoride treatments and sealants can be very hectic. BUT, these are VERY important preventive services for your child if you want them to have a bright, healthy lasting smile. We have found that motivating teens to be knowledgeable about their own dental needs leads to a long-term understanding of the importance of good dental routines for the health of their permanent teeth into adulthood.
