Dr. Kent grew up in Burlington, Iowa. He attended Northwestern Missouri State where he received his bachelors degree in 1976. In 1980 he graduated from the University of Iowa Dental School, where he was recognized for his clinical excellence with children. Kent received his masters degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Tennessee in 1984. Kent is a long time member of the Gnathos Advanced Orthodontic Study Group and lectures nationally on Practice Management. Larimer County Department of Heath has recognized Kent for his outstanding contributions in improving our community’s health via establishing two Medicaid clinics in Northern Colorado. Kent and his wife Deb have two grown children, Mehgan and Jordan. Nearly fanatical about basketball, Kent plays and coaches. Music is also a big part of his life, he sings and plays in a local blues band, The Blues Dogs.

Dr. Mike grew up in Southern California and attended college at the University of Hawaii on a sports scholarship. After returning to California he graduated from dental school from the University of Southern California in 1975. The islands got in Mike’s blood again and he went back to Hawaii after graduation and worked for a year in a children’s dental clinic. After that Mike opened his own dental office in Hawaii and practiced there for nearly 20 years. Thinking he had come to Colorado to retire, his love for kids and dentistry wouldn’t let him… good thing for us. Mike has been with TZ for nearly 5 years at our Greeley office.

Dr. Joe is a native of the Chicago area, growing up in Libertyville, Illinois. Joe finished his undergraduate studies in Bloomington, Indiana. In 2002 he graduated from Indiana School of Dentistry. In 2007 he was awarded his pediatric specialty certificate after spending 2 years at Indiana University’s Riley Hospital for children. An avid swimmer, Joe first learned of his passion for working with kids in high school while teaching swimming lessons, an activity he has continued since graduating from dental school. Joe’s wife, Eleesha, works in marketing, but her passion is teaching Yoga, which she does part time. Their dog Telly promises to keep them busy along with their new baby girl. Outside of work, Joe and Eleesha love to ski and camp. Joe rounds out his hobbies with both biking and hiking.

Katie grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Katie is the youngest of 6 children and received her BS from Purdue University in Nutritional Science and Biology. Katie was actually considering pediatric dentistry or veterinary school, noting the similarities between patients – both are sometimes wiggly, slobbery and they can bite you. Katie completed her dentistry degree at Indiana University / Riley Hospital for Children in 2006 and was a classmate of Dr. Joe! Small world, huh? Following her residency Dr. Katie worked at a successful pediatric dental clinic in Indianapolis. Katie’s husband Michael is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma. He has joined Orthopedic Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins. Katie’s hobbies include running, hiking, camping, making jewelry, pottery and of course spending time with her family.
