A FRESH START!  We understand that going to the dentist and having fun are usually two very different things. We employ “kid tested” and “dentist approved” methods that help kids receive quality care and feel good about being here. In fact, we helped write the book on it! Dr. Kent Obermann was part of a team of doctors who wrote the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists Behavior Modification Guidelines. In other words, we know kids!

What is ACCOMPLISHED IN THE FIRST VISIT for your child?
1. We get to know you and your child.
2. Address your child’s health history and chief concerns.
3. Cleaning.
4. Fluoride Treatment.
5. Take X-Rays, if needed. (usually around age 4)
6. Oral hygiene instructions conducted in “age appropriate” fashion.
7. Exam by the doctor which detects:
    • Necessary tooth restorations - decayed, chipped, broken or abscessed                teeth.
    • Need for preventive care - preventive resins, fluoride
      therapy, patient education, diet counseling if necessary.
    • Need for Orthodontic consideration - crowding, spacing,
      missing teeth, extra teeth, growth and development of jaw and face.
    • Detection of any abnormalities - unusual oral growth,
       root/permanent tooth formation, condition of gums and
       supporting tissues, inflammatory or non-inflammatory soft
       tissue problems.

FACILITY TOUR AND PARENT ORIENTATION.  While your child is going through his/her appointment you will be given a tour of our facility. We will also provide you with a presentation about the ToothZone Network
by our friendly New Patient Coordinator.

We will NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. To best meet the needs of our young patients with relatively short attention spans and parents with hectic schedules, we organize our schedule down to the minute and reserve time for each patient. 

CONSULTATION WITH THE DOCTOR. Part of our service is to have your Doctor sit down with you and go over his or her findings and a recommended treatment plan.

YOU TO DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOUR CHILD.  Our role as a pediatric dental practice is to give you the information and experienced recommendations you need to decide how to best treat your child.  Where alternative treatments exist, we will educate you about them.

EASY CHECK-OUT. We have four check out pods staffed with fun, friendly and efficient financial specialists. They will have you checked out and on your way in no time at all.
